Nothing chills us to the bone quite like a good shark movie. Of course, they are only fun to watch because we are not the ones stranded in the open ocean. We have assembled a list of the best bingeworthy shark movies that we have come to love. It’s gonna be a while before you go for a swim again. We recommend you stay safely at home in the comfort of your living room and leave the ocean to the sharks.
47 METERS DOWN

“47 Meters Down” follows two sisters, Lisa and Kate, who decide to embark on an adventurous vacation in Mexico. They book a cage diving experience to swim with great white sharks. But the thrill quickly turns to terror when the cage becomes detached from the boat and plunges to the ocean floor, leaving the sisters stranded 47 meters down. As they struggle to stay calm and find a way back to the surface, they face not only the physical challenges of limited oxygen but also the chilling presence of sharks circling nearby.
DEEP BLUE SEA
Where to Watch: YouTube, Google Play, Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Fandango at Home
What happens when science interferes with the natural order of things? “Deep Blue Sea” teaches us what. In order to develop a cure for Alzheimer’s, scientist Dr. Susan McAlester increased the brain size of her great white test sharks. This means that she took one of nature’s most dangerous predators and gave it intelligence and reasoning. There is some seriously satisfying shark action as the crew of Aquatica tries to escape the confines of the underwater facility and make their way to the surface. They need to outsmart the sharks before the sharks outsmart them.
JAWS
Where To Watch: Amazon Prime Video, Google Play Movies & TV, Apple TV, Fandango at Home
Da da. Da da. Da da. “Jaws” clearly makes this shark-loving list. Directed by the illustrious Steven Spielberg, this film generated so much fear of the water that without it, some of us might actually swim in the ocean. Jaws was our first collective encounter with the great white shark, striking both fascination and fear in the minds of movie-goers. “Jaws” is the OG of shark movies that every movie lover needs to see (and probably already has). There are also a number of sequels to this film, so you can enjoy a Jaws-athon if you are looking for even more shark action.
OPEN WATER

As they drift aimlessly in the water, they face increasing danger from the elements, sharks, and their growing desperation. The film explores their struggle for survival, the psychological strain of isolation, and the challenges of their relationship as they fight to stay afloat and hopeful in a seemingly unending expanse of water.
OPEN WATER 2: ADRIFT
Where to Watch: Tubi, Pluto TV, PLEX, YouTube, Amazon Prime Video, YouTube TV, Google Play Movies & TV, Apple TV, Fandango at Home
This movie takes the lost at sea premise in a different direction. Instead of being isolated with no chance of survival, this group is mere inches away from the safety of their luxury yacht with no way to get back on it, and those few inches will dictate whether they will live or die. Their chance of survival is so close yet so far away.
OPEN WATER 3: CAGE DIVE

Three adventurous Americans hoping to be cast in a daredevil reality show travel to Australia to go cage diving with sharks, documenting their entire journey with an underwater video camera. When a freak wave hits the boat, all of the people on board are thrown into the chum-filled water. Our characters find themselves outside the protection of the cage and, with no help in sight, attempt to survive the night with great white sharks gliding right below their feet. This is our favorite of the Open Water series. The tension is high, and there is TONS of shark action.
